The Green Dragon public house in Hightown could be turned into a care home if plans submitted to Wrexham Council are approved.

Summit Healthcare say they wish to open what they are calling a “modern residential care home for adults to support their transition from hospital into the community” on the site.

The plans say the home would cater for a maximum of six residents.

Around ten months ago this thread on our forums mentioned that the site was for sale with planning permission for seven houses. The images supplied showed car parking for the houses on space directly outside the pub, and space that is used in the new plans.

The sale of the site previously had imagery showing a housing plan.

The supporting document contains a pledge that if approved Summit Healthcare will use ‘local suppliers for our home’.
