Plans entered for nine new homes in Minera
Plans have been entered which could see nine new family homes built in a village near Wrexham.
Gower Homes wants to build the properties on land near Eversley Court in Minera.
Outline planning permission was previously received to create eight houses on the same site.
The company said the latest scheme would help to meet the demand for housing in the county borough.
In the planning document’s, an architect working on behalf of the Wrexham house builders added it would make a positive contribution to the area.
Kathryn Gratton said: “The statement has been prepared in support of a full planning application for the development of the land accessed from Eversley Court which has planning history dating from October 2015 for the erection of eight dwellings.
“Therefore, it is clear that the site is suited for residential purposes.
“The case officer’s report previously noted that the application lies within the defined settlement limit where residential development is acceptable, and that development will not be at a detriment of the character of the area.
“Indeed, the committee report’s conclusion noted that it will make a positive contribution to the locality.”
If approved, the development would see the creation of nine detached properties, each having either three or four bedrooms.
The site is close to a former railway line which forms part of the boundary to the Minera Conservation Area.
Ms Gratton added that the scheme was designed to fit in with other houses in the area.
She said: “The design of the dwellings and their features are designed to chime well with the surrounding housing, and the vernacular of Minera.
“Overall the proposals would be in character with the residential scale and form of the existing urban streetscape.”
The application will be considered by Wrexham Council at a later date.
