The Party of Wales leader Leanne Wood will tonight hold an open meeting to discuss what Plaid Cymru will do to benefit and support the people of Wrexham.

Fresh from a string of high profile media appearances during the Westminster election, Leanne Wood has fired the starting gun on the 2016 Welsh General Election campaign, vowing to speak to “as many people in Wales as we possibly can” during the year.

She will address the Wrexham audience as she begins her nationwide tour, addressing the question “What Next for Wales?” She will also take questions from the audience.

Ahead of the meeting, the Party of Wales leader Leanne Wood said: “Strengthening our public services and improving our economy is Plaid Cymru’s number one aim. We want to give the people of the north east of Wales, and the people of Wales, a brighter future based on economic growth and investment in our public services.

“People want to see things get better in their lives, in their GP surgery, their school, their hospital and in their workplace. Plaid Cymru’s programme for the Welsh Government will be about delivering that.

“I want to talk to the people of Wrexham about Plaid Cymru’s plans to improve rail and road networks across north Wales, to better connectivity and how we can make things easier for small and medium-sized businesses. I also want to celebrate the strong role of large businesses in the north east of Wales, and the economic contribution it makes, and to hear your ideas about how we can improve this.

“This is an open invitation to anyone who has an interest in the future of our nation and of your local community to come and join the discussion and help us build a better Wales.”

For those who fancy popping down the event will begin at 7:30pm tonight at the Wrexham Lager Club.
