Penycae Football Club announce ‘major sponsorship deal’ with Soccer Million
Penycae Football Club has announced a ‘major sponsorship deal’ with startup Soccer Million.
The deal – which they say is the largest sponsorship in the club’s history since its inception in 1982 – will allow the club to further develop its facilities at The Riverside and provide better equipment and coaching to all of its teams.
To launch the new partnership the Soccer Million branding will feature on the back of the club’s new home and away kit for the 2019/20 season as well as on numerous pitch side boards around the ground.
The club’s brand-new stand will also be renamed as part of the deal.
Robert Salisbury, director and commercial manager at the club, said: “This partnership with Soccer Million will allow us scope to further develop our wonderful facilities for the benefit of our local community.
“We’ve made huge strides over the last eighteen months to ensure we transition into a community hub for the whole community to access and not just a football club.
“Our facilities are among the best in the area and this is down to the forward-thinking management committee over the years, who have strived to develop the ground with a commitment to undertake at least one new ground development project every season.
“This partnership will now allow us to push on further and develop the club to the level we know it should be at. ”
He continued: “On behalf of everyone involved with Penycae I’d like to thank Steve and everyone at Soccer Million for giving us the opportunity to work with them and make a real difference for the community of Penycae.”
Ben Heath, first team manager added: “This is a great opportunity for both parties to increase the profile of Steve’s business and our Football Club who’s ambition is to take the club to the highest level possible.
“The sponsorship will help provide better equipment and improve facilities so everyone can enjoy an amazing match day experience.
“The future is looking bright and let’s not forget this is all building on top of the amazing work Colin, Steve and the Penycae staff including players have already helped provide over the years.”
Soccer Million appear to have explained their model here, with affiliate fees generated via sports betting app Kwiff being shared into the Soccer Million pot. Once that pot hits £1m a draw will take place with a winning club getting the jackpot – a huge sum for most football clubs.
The sponsorship appears to being replicated locally with several other clubs as well:
