Update: Monday 12pm

Scottish Power have confirmed that they are looking into the cause of Friday night’s power cuts and that their investigations are ongoing. Last night we had another report that there had been a power outage in Rhos.

@Wrexham follower Andy Tilston said there was also an outage in Bron-Y-Dre, he said: “power outage up bron-y-dre. Fire engine out. Apparently mains have fried underground. Expected to be off all eve.”

Several parts of Wrexham have experienced power cuts this evening on more than one occasion.

The first reports came from @WrexhamEye who said: “2nd power cut in Gresford & Marford tonight, 1st at about 8.15pm, 2nd 9.20pm, I wonder why?”

When we asked other @wrexham followers several others reported similar problems.

Tracy G-Keenan who also lives on the edge of Gresford and Marford said the power cuts had left house alarms going off everywhere.

Kevin Pryde reported an outage in Rhos at 9:40pm, the third instance in 28 days in the area.

Down at the Pant Yr Ochain Jaid Williams said there had been two power cuts, nearly affecting the pub’s dinner service.

Wrexham.com will be contacting the local power distribution network operator tomorrow to try and establish the cause of the problems.
