A popular event which sees historical sites across Wales open their doors to the public returns in September.

The ‘Open Doors’ event provides the opportunity for members of the public to visit historical halls, houses and churches. The events are organised by Cadw, the Welsh Government’s historic environment service.

In Wrexham there will be an opportunity to visit several historical locations throughout the month.

In Wrexham events start on September 3rd at Isycoed Park, booking required. On the 06th September there’s an opportunity to visit the Ceiriog Memorial Institute whilst the beautiful St Mary’s Parish Church in Ruabon throws open its doors on the 13th and 14th September.

Booking will be required for Brynkinalt on the 16 September, on the 19 for Llay Miners Centre and a visit to the Stiwt Theatre and tour of Rhos on the 27th September. You can also visit Minera Lead Mines for free on the 20th September.

There’s also opportunities to visit Erddig Hall, Iscoed Park, Hope Parish Church and St John’s Church, Rhosymedre
