Cllr David A Bithell Wrexham Council’s Lead Member for Environment and Public Protection said: “This operation is part of an ongoing campaign by the Trading Standards Service to clamp down on illegal traders.

“Illegal Trading can put the safety of local residents at risk and has an effect on the local economy as retailers suffer as a result of these activities.”

“Make no mistake those who illegally trade in goods such as Fireworks and Toys are putting the public at risk.

“There have been incidents reported nationally and the risks to the public from the storage of Fireworks in unregulated premises don’t bear thinking about.”

“Working with key partners Trading Standards will continue to do all they can to combat illegal trading in Wrexham and encourage legitimate traders to thrive, as this all helps to make Wrexham a safer and more prosperous place to live and do business.”
