More details have been released over an incident in Caia earlier today.

At around 10:38am this morning an ‘off road quad bike’ being driven in the Prince Charles Road area collided with a police officer.

The quad bike and driver left the scene.

Earlier we reported that the police helicopter was overhead the Glan Gors area of Caia for around 40 minutes, and that later the National Police Air Service updated to say they were in the air assisting North Wales Police ground units in a ‘suspect search’ in the Wrexham area.

Police have since confirmed a ‘pursuit’ took place involving the helicopter and officers on the ground, and two men were subsequently detained.

The injured officer attended hospital for a check over.
