Residents across Wrexham woke up to a wintery surprise this morning, with snowfall arriving in the area.

Although heavy rain had been forecast throughout today, the Met Office are now forecasting a few more hours of snow in Wrexham before the rain arrives.

Temperatures have also dropped over night, with highs of just 1C today.

Darren Williams Chief Officer Environment at Wrexham Council, said: “Our gritting crews are out this morning covering all routes, officers will be monitoring the weather forecast for the next few hours but its expected to ease later this afternoon.”
