New real time information screens displaying bus arrival and departure details have been installed at the town’s bus station.

Earlier this year it was announced that Wrexham Council had secured nearly £250,000 grant funding from the Welsh Government for essential repairs and refurbishments at the Wrexham Bus Station.

As part of the funding the new boards have been installed both inside and outside Wrexham Bus Station – providing visitors with information on the bus service number, where it is travelling to, the stand it is departing from and what time it is due.

Details released by the council earlier this year described the station as one of the busiest in Wales by providing over 168,000 bus service departures.

At the time it stated that the improvements aimed to go some way towards ensuring the station meets the needs and expectations of customers.

Cllr David A Bithell, Lead Member for Environment and Transport, said: “We are committed to improving the town centre bus station and I welcome the investment we have secured from the Welsh Government.

“The funds provided have allowed us to install new information screens, both inside and outside the bus station.

“We have also installed new toilets and made changes inside the station so that we can better manage the concourse in the evenings and night-time.

“We are also currently cleaning the outside areas of the station, and will continue to work with the Welsh Government and bus operators on further improvements.”
