Tea Parties have taken place across Wales aimed at supporting mental health carers.

Last Friday local charity Hafal held their Big Carers’ Tea Break at the Maesgwyn Hall in Wrexham.

As part of their summer campaign, similar events have been held across the country aimed at empowering and informing mental health carers by bringing them together for afternoon tea, a chat and to provide mutual support for one another.

Hafal, a client-led charity based in Wrexham and across Wales, helps people with severe mental illness and their families to work towards recovery. All the services provided are underpinned by Hafal’s Recovery Programme which empowers clients and families to take control of their lives and achieve recovery.

The event was attended by Wrexham Assembly Member Lesley Griffiths, who said: “By working together and supporting one another, people can achieve more, and this campaign provided the ideal opportunity for mental health carers in Wrexham to meet, chat and offer each other advice and guidance.”

“Thank you once again to Hafal for inviting me to their Big Carers’ Tea Break. Over the years, I have been fortunate to attend various events initiated by Hafal and have witnessed on many occasions the invaluable range of services and support they offer to people in Wrexham.”
