An anonymous Twitter account is looking to transform a Wrexham family’s Christmas this year by supplying their Christmas meal and presents.

@hiddencashwxm took to Twitter yesterday evening to say they are looking to transform a Wrexham family’s Christmas Day, by spending up to £150 on a festive meal.

Regular readers of Wrexham.com may remember @hiddencashwxm from earlier this summer, when the Twitter account did anonymous cash drops in Wrexham town centre.

@hiddencashwxm said: “Well over the summer was the Hidden Cash and everyone doing the modern day treasure hunt. It was too popular and personally I think it got out of hand I was getting abuse, being called a liar and people, just generally being rude.

“So I decided I would back off from the hidden cash and let it die down. A lot of copy accounts were set up but I don’t think I saw any of the prizes materialise.”

However over the past few days @hiddencashwxm has reappeared on Twitter and this time is volunteering to pay for someone’s Christmas Day meal and food for the festive period.

@hiddencashwxm is now looking for nominations for families who would like a festive treat. Appeals for local businesses to take part and donate gifts has also been launched.

@hiddencashwxm said: “Over the past few weeks I’ve seen adverts for Christmas and I have read time and time again about people struggling at Christmas may it be with food or presents. I’ve not seen anyone else doing it at the moment so thought maybe I could change someone’s Christmas and not look like I’m copying another Hidden Cash.

“So I decided I’d personally pay up to £150 for someone’s Christmas Day Meal and food for over the festive period.

“To ensure the funds actually go on Food and not alcohol or just generally wasted. I will do the shopping and personally drop the goods off (Dressed as Santa of Course so any fancy dress companies want to lend me an outfit for a few hours it would be great!)

“While I was thinking yes this could help with one aspect of Christmas, is there a way I could help with some presents for their children. So Im looking at local businesses to help with this and then around Christmas time I’d be looking to go and give the family a happy Christmas (dressed as Santa) to bring home that Christmas is about sharing and even in 2014 can still be magical.”

The competition to win your Christmas meal starts today and will run until the 18th of December. The lucky winners will then have their presents delivered on the 23rd December.

To enter you can tweet me with the @hiddencashwxm or #hiddencashwxm. In your tweet just tell the account how winning will change your Christmas.

Alternatively if you do not have twitter then you can email me with your name, number and how winning will change your Christmas. Contact details are [email protected]

All entries will then be shortlisted and a winner will be chosen and contacted. Keep an eye on @hiddencashwxm and Wrexham.com for further updates!
