Residents are being advised that bin collections for Monday have been cancelled due to the ongoing snow and bad weather.

A statement released by Lead Member for Environment and Transport, Cllr David A Bithell this afternoon explains that the decision to suspend tomorrow’s bin collections were made following a conference call between officers earlier today.

Normal collections are planned for Tuesday and a further update on Monday’s collections will be confirmed tomorrow.

Further details on gritting across Wrexham have also been released, with streetscene staff working continuously over the past 36 hours “to maintain the highway priority gritting routes and will continue throughout tonight and tomorrow.”

Cllr Bithell said: “All streetscene staff will be providing additional support tomorrow to assist in snow clearance and preparation for Tuesdays collections and to return to normal as soon as possible.

“The weather should ease later tonight but we are expecting a very cold night with sub zero temperatures. My thanks to all the staff who have been working to maintain our priority routes in different conditions.”
