Once again the scourge of dirty water has hits the taps of Wrexham.

Wrexham.com followers from Johnstown, Rhosddu and Llay have all been in contact to report problems.

Marc Roberts (@marcrob81) was the first person to report the problem to our @wrexham account.

Within minutes several others had been in touch reporting dirty bath water in Johnstown and brown water in Garden Village.

AD Cleaning Services (@alexio1982) sent in the above picture and said: “For Petes sake my kids have to bath in this”.

Dee Valley Water told us that the discolouration was due to re-suspension of natural mineral deposits inside the pipes, but added that the deposits were unlikely to be harmful.

They said: “Some customers in areas Johnstown, Rhosddu, Llay, Penyfford and Kinnerton are experiencing intermittent problems with discoloured water.

“We apologise for this and are working urgently to rectify the problem by cleaning the pipes, which is due to re-suspension of natural mineral deposits inside the pipes.

“The deposits are unlikely to be harmful to health. If we need to turn off your water supply to carry out the work, you will be warned in advance.”

It follows similar problems at the start of the month in Pen Y Bryn and at the end of May which affected water supplies across Wrexham.
