The Met Office has updated its warnings this evening to include a snow and ice warning for Flintshire & Denbighshire overnight and into the morning.

Tonight’s update is a further update to warnings issued over recent days – so different from the warning we ran yesterday, and is covering through until around 10am tomorrow morning.

The ‘yellow’ warning covers Conwy, Denbighshire, Flintshire, Gwynedd, Isle of Anglesey – but not Wrexham however we are aware many of our readers commute or travel to and from these areas. Wrexham will still see a chilly start, but we are hopefully due to escape the snow.

The warning states it is: “…emphasising a gradual reduction of wind speeds early on Thursday but at the same time, prolonging the risk of impacts due to snow and ice into the mid-morning period.”

The Met Office warning states: “The public should be aware of the potential for disruption to travel from a number of factors, with ice and snowfall likely to become rather more problematic by morning.”

The Wrexham specific forecast shows a chilly morning with ‘highs’ of 5c however it could feel more like -1c. After a gusty morning with winds hitting 20mph it is due to get nicer into the afternoon. We are told today has seen gusts hit 37 mph in Wrexham.

Friday is still covered by a weather warning as the bad weather that is hitting the north comes further south.

Wrexham Council have updated saying gritting will be occurring overnight, which has been happening alot more lately:
