A yellow weather warning for strong winds in Wrexham and across Wales has been lifted by the Met Office.

The Met Office had issued two yellow weather warnings for Wrexham and across North Wales, with gusts expected to reach up to 60mph between on Wednesday night and into this morning.

Initial forecasts had also suggested that gales would become widespread later on Friday, persisting well into Saturday whilst becoming more westerly.

But despite a windy and wet start to the day, both warnings have now been lifted by the Met Office.

Elsewhere the Met Office have forecast that ‘Storm Erik’ is to hit Northern Ireland, northern England and Scotland over the next two days.

Although the weather warnings have been lifted there is still some rain and blustery weather on the forecast for Wrexham on Friday and Saturday.
