The Met Office currently (midday Thursday) state an 80% chance of ‘heavy snow’ at 6-7am tomorrow morning, with light snow from around 4am through until 9am.

Sleet, snow and hail showers are expected to affect Wrexham on Friday, the Met Office has issued a yellow weather alert for snow and ice across much of Wales and the north of England from midnight tonight through to midday tomorrow.

A Met Office spokesman said:

“Following a spell of rain and hill snow, temperatures will fall quickly allowing widespread ice to form on untreated pavements, cycle paths and roads. Heavy sleet, hail and snow showers will follow.

There is a chance of injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces. Bus and train services may be delayed or cancelled, with some road closures and longer journey times possible.

The warning has been updated to extend it further south and east, whilst delaying the start time to midnight.”
