Man taken to hospital following fire at HMP Berwyn

A man was taken to hospital this afternoon following a fire at HMP Berwyn.

Shortly after 1pm this afternoon there were reports that two ambulances, fire engine and police had been seen heading towards the Wrexham Industrial Estate.

A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called today (Thursday May 17, 2018) at approximately 12:25pm to reports of a fire at a premises on Wrexham Industrial Estate, Wrexham.

“We responded with two crews in emergency ambulances, where a male patient was taken to Wrexham Maelor Hospital, Wrexham.”
