A male was taken to hospital yesterday evening after he was hit by a vehicle in New Broughton.

The incident took place at around 4:30pm yesterday, with several people taking to social media asking why a road had been closed off.

Sianny tweeted us @wrexham to say “loads of police outside bargain booze in Caego and road closed”, with others reporting the male was on his bike at the time.

Roads nearby were closed off for around 45 minutes while the incident was dealt with.

A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 4.49pm last night to reports a car had collided with a pedestrian on Windsor Road in New Broughton. We responded with a paramedic in a rapid response vehicle, an ambulance officer and a crew in an emergency ambulance, and a man in his 20s with non-life threatening injuries was taken to Wrexham Maelor Hospital.”
