Male Left With Serious Injuries Following Rhostyllen RTC

A local man has been left with serious injuries following a Road Traffic Collision in Rhostyllen earlier this morning.

North Wales Police are appealing for witnesses following a Road Traffic Collision on Wrexham Road, Rhostyllen earlier this morning which has left a local man with serious injuries.

The collision involved a white Ford Transit van and pedal cycle.

Chief Inspector Darren Wareing said from the scene “Shortly after 5.00am this morning, Tuesday 18th November 2014, North Wales Police and other emergency services responded to the scene of a road traffic collision on Wrexham Road, Rhostyllen involving a white Ford Transit van and pedal cycle.

“As a result of the collision the cyclist, a local man, has sustained serious but not life threatening injuries and has been conveyed to hospital.

“A full investigation will now take place and we’d like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and may have witnessed the collision or events leading up to it to contact the Roads Policing Unit at Deeside 101 or via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 and quote reference No. R181551.”

North Wales Police are also advising motorists to avoid the area whilst emergency services manage the scene and conduct their investigation.

The police helicopter is up, and the road remains closed off as of 9:15am.
