The development is taking place on the ‘brownfield’ site of the former petrol station. The site has not been used as a petrol station since 2007 and since then has been empty and an eyesore on the gateway to the town.
The planning documents indicate that Majestic Wine will occupy one unit of the new development, with other units possibly being aimed at cafes, bakers or sandwich takeaways. Majestic provide supporting information, including opening hours which would be 10am to 8pm Monday to Saturdays.
Thirty parking spaces are also specified in the planning document, including three disabled spaces.
The development is being carried out by Redsun Developments from Liverpool, who have it listed as ‘space available’ on on their website.
We reported last month on the demolition of the old petrol station here.
