Local MP Lucas Gets PMQ Telling Off

Speaker Bercow today told off local MP Ian Lucas during Prime Ministers Questions.

Prime Minster David Cameron was answering a query regarding the backlog of passport applications when he was interrupted from Opposition benches.

The Speaker heard one or two heckles and shouted his usual cry of ‘Order!’, going on to rebuke another MP and then Mr Lucas, saying: “Mr Robertson, you do have something of a lion’s roar and it rather lets you down because I can hear clearly that it is you.

“As for you, Mr Lucas, I have told you that you need to go on some sort of therapeutic training course if you are to attain the level of statesmanship to which you aspire.

“Let us hear the answer.”
