Local competition winners give children’s library cards bright and colourful designs
Children’s library cards in Wrexham have been given a unique and colourful twist thanks to the work of two local competition winners.
Last year Wrexham’s library service launched a contest to design a new children’s library card.
All in all more than 450 entries were submitted – all of which are now brightening up the foyer at Wrexham Library.
The winners of the competition were Daisy Moore and Felicity Woods, who were presented with their gift vouchers and new library cards in a presentation ceremony at Wrexham Library.
The two winning designs have already been made into library cards and will replace the current children’s library card design.
All children (aged under 12) need to apply for a library card is the permission of a parent, and some form of ID or proof of address.
And while there, why not take a look at all the submitted entries in the foyer, sent in by hundreds of children and adults from all across Wrexham?
Cllr Hugh Jones, lead member for communities, partnerships, public protection and community safety, said: “I’d like to congratulate Daisy and Felicity for their winning entries to the library card design contest, and I’m sure their bright and colourful designs will be welcomed by our younger library users.”
