A sponsored walk around the beautiful shores of Llyn Brenig has raised £808.70 for Nightingale House Hospice.

Brother Industries UK based on the Vauxhall Industrial Estate in Ruabon, who are long standing supporters of the charity, arranged the event. Staff there have raised a fantastic £15,695.95 over the past ten years for the hospice from a range of activities.

A total of 15 staff took part in the 9.5 mile walk around the beautiful Cerrigydrudion reservoir near Conwy, which brings the total this year raised by the company to £2,765.75. This includes sponsorship of the Hospice Duck Race at Bangor on Dee and a raffle.

Valentine’s Travel of Wrexham helped with the travel to and from the event by giving a discount on their normal coach hire rate.

Jacqueline Cumming, HR and CSR Assistant Manager at Brother Industries UK in Wrexham said: “Brother Industries’ belief of ‘At your side’ is embedded into the company culture, alongside Corporate Social Responsibility, so giving back to the local community through raising funds for Nightingale House Hospice was a natural choice for employees when many of them have benefitted directly or indirectly from its services.”

Debbie Barton, from the Hospice’s Fundraising Team said: “We really value the contribution staff at Brother Industries have made to the work of the Hospice through their many fundraising activities.

“They are always so enthusiastic and we are really proud of the relationship we have with them. This latest event is another example of their fantastic support.”
