Heavy Rain Hits Area – Causing Mud Slide In Minera
At half midnight we warned that the heavy rain that was belting down was not likely to shift overnight, and true to that it carried on throughout the morning causing issues in and around Wrexham.
Just checked the radar & this band of rain isnt shifting anytime soon. If out take it easy on the roads as its pretty heavy! #RainRainGoAway

Further pictures from today…
Erddig
Ruth from Martin Rees Jewellers sent us the following three pictures, taken around 2.30 pm this afternoon in Erddig.
Ruth said “The National Trust have put up notices saying “The receding waters have undercut the river banks, please keep to the footpaths” – presumably they mean the ones that are not underwater!”
“The pair of swans who always nest on the pond in the middle of the field, this year they built the nest on the side nearest the river bank, think it’s been washed away cos they are now both over on the other side! Poor things!”
Ruthin Road & New Development
Sandbags were deployed to the rear of Bro Deg in the new Ruthin Road housing estate. One resident of Bryn Coch got in touch to say they were ‘concerned’ in the early hours of today. Becky sent us these pictures of the sandbags outside the houses and the main Ruthin Road:
Diane let us use this picture of another new build development in town, this time showing flooding on Rivulet Road in the town centre:
