There has been emergancy service activity around Ty Brith in Minera, with reports of a landslip. Helicopters have been sighted, believed to be the air ambulance. Gem Ketteringham sent us the above picture of the scene.

We are told one person was injured and airlifted to hospital, his injuries are not believed to be serious. Engineers are on the scene making the site secure.

Further pictures from today…

Erddig
Ruth from Martin Rees Jewellers sent us the following three pictures, taken around 2.30 pm this afternoon in Erddig.

Ruth said “The National Trust have put up notices saying “The receding waters have undercut the river banks, please keep to the footpaths” – presumably they mean the ones that are not underwater!”

“The pair of swans who always nest on the pond in the middle of the field, this year they built the nest on the side nearest the river bank, think it’s been washed away cos they are now both over on the other side! Poor things!”

Sandbags were deployed to the rear of Bro Deg in the new Ruthin Road housing estate. One resident of Bryn Coch got in touch to say they were ‘concerned’ in the early hours of today. Becky sent us these pictures of the sandbags outside the houses and the main Ruthin Road:

The public are advised to contact Wrexham County Council for sandbags as the fire and rescue service does not keep a stock of them.
