THIS LIST WAS FOR MONDAY 11th DECEMBER – CHECK WREXHAM.COM FRONTPAGE FOR TUESDAYS UPDATES

Tomorrow morning’s forecast has temperatures dropping to -4C at 7am and staying under -2C through to 9am. No snowfall is predicted tomorrow, however there is a yellow warning for ice due to the obviously poor conditions.

Glyndwr University have said all their campuses will be open tomorrow, they said: “The snow plough will be in operation this evening and overnight to clear the roads and large car parks on the Plas Coch (main) site in Wrexham. The paths and pavement areas will also be cleared with salt and snow blowers in the morning and tonight.” The Uni posted a late update just after 10pm to say “Glyndwr Uni has altered since their last update a couple of hours ago – now “All lectures have been CANCELLED for tomorrow (Monday) but all campuses are still open, with limited parking at Wrexham”, they added that the are campuses still open though.

Coleg Cambria have said they are part open but closed to students – “All college sites will be closed for full time students tomorrow. At this stage, all sites will still be open for staff and employer courses.”

Most schools that have closed say they have made the decision to due to the weather, citing safety of children, parents and staff – and that they aim to reopen on Tuesday.

Other local authorities in the UK have opted for a blanket approach with a full school closure declared, however in Wrexham it appears the decisions are being left to each Head Teacher as is customary.

As always parents should have various digital notifications in place to inform them direct.

The updates started just before 4pm today and as of just before 6pm the list covers the below. If a school is not on this list it does not mean it will be open, just a decision has not yet been made or publicly shared.

ZERO schools have said they are open as of yet, there are 71 education facilities listed as being under Wrexham Council on their site.

We will be updating this list through the evening, with the latest changes at the top.
