Late night police activity in the Ruabon area has been explained – with a male arrested for burglary offences.

Last night a number of people tweeted Wrexham.com querying why the police helicopter had been hovering over Ruabon / Plas Madoc.

One person tweeted Wrexham.com to say: “Police helicopter been round most of today and still going round now, what’s going on.” While Laura got in touch to say: “Police helicopter has been out in Plas madoc for a few hours now seems to be circling the train track?”

Ali added: “Cop cars by the caravan place in Ruabon and the police copter over my house.”

A spokesperson for North Wales Police said they had received a call at 10:25pm following reports that someone had been acting suspiciously near Clwyd Caravans in Ruabon.

The police helicopter attended the scene and assisted in the search.

A male was later arrested for burglary offences.
