Wrexhamites have just days left to have their say in Wrexham Council’s ‘Difficult Decisions’ consultation.

The 2017/18 budget consultation closes on Wednesday 26 October and Wrexham Council are encouraging those who haven’t yet taken part to do so as soon as possible.

So far 770 residents have taken part since 14 September with comments also being left on Facebook and Twitter.

This is the fourth budget consultation to have been held by Wrexham Council, who are looking to make savings of £5 million over the next financial year.

In total the local authority have had to make savings of £36m in the past three years – resulting in the closure of community centres, local libraries, the Nant Silyn Care Home and a number of job losses / staffing restructures within the council.

Cllr Hugh Jones, Lead Member for Communities and Partnerships, said: “I would like to thank everyone who has taken part so far for their time and comments. Your views really do matter and we will be taking them into account when we prepare the final budget proposals to present to Council next February.”

The consultation ends on Wednesday and is available online at the Wrexham Council website or via a hard copy available from council buildings.
