‘Large’ Number of Wrexham Homes Left Without Water
A burst mains has left a ‘large’ number of homes across parts of Wrexham have been left without running water this morning.
Issues with water pressure / no running water were initially reported shortly after 7:30am.
The area which appears to largely have affected those living around the Wrexham Industrial Estate and Cross Lanes.
Mark tweeted Wrexham.com to say: “Anyone else suffering with low water pressure this morning? Just a trickle in Cross Lanes.”
Ann told Wrexham.com: “No water pressure in Pentre Maelor, any one else affected?”
Others have been left with dirty water, with Paul saying: “Hope they fix it quick only dirty water in factory on the @wrexham industrial estate.”
While Dani added: “Plenty on Redwither Business Park with no water! No cuppa! No toilets! @wrexham hurry up Dee Valley Water!”
A statement issued by Dee Valley Water at 8:50am this morning, reads: “We are currently carrying out investigations to rectify the problem effecting a large area in and around the wrexham area and are using all our resources to restore the supply to normal, but at the moment can not provide an estimated time when the supply will be back to normal.
An update was also posted at 10am, with Dee Valley Water stating: “There is a burst main on Wrexham industrial Estate Customers in the Wrexham, Holt Farndon Eccleston, Rossett, Churton Hamner, Bettisfield area and its surrounding area may have no supply or poor pressure.
When the supply returns you may have discoloured water please run you cold kitchen supply until it clears, if it does not clear please contact the company
“We are using all our resources to return the supply back to normal and we are sorry for any inconvenience caused.
