Kitten Rescued By RSPCA Last Year Shot By Airgun

A cat rescued by the RSPCA – and adopted by the inspector who found him – has been injured by a pellet gun.

RSPCA inspector Tim Jones rescued a stray cat – who was a kitten at the time – last year before adopting him and naming him Ossy. The kitten was very small when he was found and was in an emaciated state.

“Ossy has been our pet ever since we rescued him and has now grown and has become part of the family,” inspector Jones said.

But on the evening of Saturday 21st March Ossy returned home limping and inspector Jones quickly took him to the vets to see what the cause of his discomfort was.

“Upon taking him to our vets we found that he had been shot with an air gun,” he said.

“The pellet had passed through his body and finished up cracking his femur. We are just hoping he is going to get better.”

Ossy has now returned home to recover but is still limping.

It is thought that the incident happened around the Pant Olwen/Pant Lane area of Gresford, Wrexham and along with making enquiries the RSPCA is appealing for information.

“This has highlighted the suffering that one person with an air weapon can cause,” said inspector Jones.
