Shortly after 10am this morning an elderly man is believed to have been hit by a car on Kings Mills Road in Hightown.

The road is closed off from the Kingsmill pub onwards heading into town, with Whitegate road and other roads leading to it also closed. Traffic into town is being diverted through Caia Park via Abenbury Road and Cefn Road.

Several police cars and the ambulance service are in attendance.
