Update: Thursday June 27th

A 45 year old local man arrested on suspicion of murder yesterday remains in custody being questioned by detectives.

At approximately 12.43am on Wednesday 26th June 2013 North Wales Police were called to the Cambrian Vaults Public House in Town Hill Wrexham where a 34 year old man from Llay had received fatal injuries.

A post mortem examination was conducted yesterday evening (Wednesday 26th) and Police Officers and next of kin will now carry out the formal identification.  HM Coroner for North East Wales has been updated however the deceased name is not being disclosed at this time.

Senior Investigating Officer Detective Supt. Graham Talbot said “Despite a local man having been arrested the investigation is still very much in its infancy and further progress will rely on evidence carefully gathered from the scene, which is why the Public House is still considered a crime scene. Witnesses are helping us build a full picture not just of the evenings events but also of any background information or history.  I am therefore renewing my appeal for anyone who was in the Cambrian Vaults Public House on the evening of Wednesday 26th June 2013, or who has any information at all about this incident to come forward and speak to Police.

“Specially trained Police Family Liaison Officers are deployed to the victims’ family and on their behalf I’d urge If you have any information, no matter how insignificant you think it may be,  to make contact with Police.”

If you have any information regarding this incident contact Police on 101 or via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
