Just after 8pm we had reports, and could see, the police helicopter up over the west of Wrexham – specifically the Moss / Brynteg way.

These reports have developed to indicate police activity in Brynteg, specifically outside the Premier Convenience store.

Locally there are reports of a robbery at the shop, and rumoured sightings of armed police.

Peter Clutton tweeted us at 8:40pm saying “Seems all quiet except for police road block at top of Rose Hill Brynteg. Then all was back to normal. Just 1 police vehicle left”.

Nina Maria Richards tweeted us to say “Brynteg shop shut, police inside, 4 police cars outside”.

Peter got back to us at 11pm saying “Police in large numbers still in Brynteg”. Local reports are also saying the robbery was armed, and there are no report of injuries.

Monday Morning Update:
Police have arrested a 20 year old man in connection with the incident.
