An incident on the A483 caused rush hour tailbacks for motorists this afternoon.

UPDATE: One of the people involved in the incident has been in touch with us saying his vehicle was one that crashed, saying: “I hit a tool that fell off the back of a van in front, spun the car and hit the hard shoulder side crash barrier.

“Another vehicle hit the tool and had a tyre blow out.”

Thankfully there were no injuries to those involved.

As well as a general police appeal for witnesses to the incident, we are aware of appeals by drivers to get information on the van which the apparent tool / item fell from.

Original story from earlier this evening…

The incident took place on the A483 southbound between Mold Road / Summerhill Road and the Wrexham Road.

It is believed the incident took place at around 4:50pm.

A483 sliproad

When we popped down to the Gresford roundabout at 5:20pm, traffic was backed up from the Sainsbury’s roundabout and past the Gresford roundabout.

Many motorists diverted themselves through Pandy and Plas Acton Road, causing traffic through the estate.
