Ice Warning For Monday Morning

A ‘severe’ ice warning has been issued for Sunday evening through to Monday morning by the MET Office.

Overnight through until around 10am will see temperatures drop below 0C for Wrexham and the surrounding area, prompting a weather warning.

The official warning reads: “Ice is likely to form on untreated surfaces, especially where rain, sleet and wet snow has fallen during Sunday. The public should be aware of the risk of difficult driving conditions and slippery surfaces which will last into Monday morning.”

Sunday has seen snowfall across the area, with several incidents reported including an overturned car near Llangollen and an incident near Moss Valley.

The amount of gritting has been debated, with some this morning questioning if the right routes and amounts had been done, and others warning of the ice under the snowfall.
