Hundreds to Participate in Wrexham Marathon & Road Closure Details

Tomorrow will see hundreds of runners descend on Wrexham to take part in a marathon across the town centre.

In a new event for 2015 tomorrow will see the launch of the Wrexham Marathon and Half Marathon. Both races will start and finish in the town centre, with almost 800 runners expected to take part in the event.

The full marathon will begin at 9am with the half marathon starting at 10:30am, both routes meet up on Redwither Lane meaning participants will run the remaining 10 miles together. The last eight miles of the event are run on roads, pavements and paths through residential areas.

Throughout the day there will be several road closures across the town, with roads closed from as early as 6am.

The closures begin from the junction of Cefn Road/Holt Road through to Cefn Road/Bedwell Road; the junction of Hope Street/Bank Street through to the junction of Yorke Street/Mount Street.
