Emergency services in attendance

Yesterday afternoon a crash involving a car and a heavy goods vehicle caused traffic mayhem. A man and a woman suffered minor injuries after the car they were travelling in crashed heavily into the rear side of a HGV.

The driver of the HGV was uninjured and was able to exit his lorry unaided, whereas the driver and passenger of the car had to be cut out by emergency services.

A local farmer was one of the first on the scene along with a passing doctor, with the farmer taking control of the traffic guiding people around the incident. Three fire engines and ambulance were first on the scene, with police arriving after.

Wrexham Road was closed, as was Hugmore Lane while an investigation took place, creating tailbacks and diversions around the back roads of Borras and the industrial estate.
