Plans have been put forward to build 15 new homes in Gwersyllt.

In an outline application submitted to Wrexham Council it has been proposed that a number of existing industrial units on land at Mold Road Industrial Estate are demolished to make way for the properties.

Plans indicate that the warehouse fronting onto Mold Road would remain on the site, with the properties built at the rear of the land.

The site itself is described as being brownfield, which is accessed from Hardwick Road in Gwersyllt – a new housing estate which was completed around five years ago.

Of the proposed homes 13 would consist of two bedrooms and the remaining two would have three bedrooms.

As the application is in its outline stages, further details of the design of the properties will be provided in later plans.

The applicants conclude: “We feel this planning application should be looked favourably upon as we feel there are no justifiable reasons for refusal.

“Development of this parcel of land within the community with vastly improve on the current characteristics of the site, adding to the natural surveillance for the area.

“Support of this application on a brownfield site would allow the local authority to reduce their deficit on new dwellings required for the county borough.

“The construction of a residential development would be a natural progression of the residential area adjacent to the application site.”

It is the second housing application to have been submitted to Wrexham Council this month, with plans also put forward for up to 132 homes across two parcels of land in Rossett.

The application will be considered for approval at a later date.
