Plans have been put forward to partially convert a former public house in Brynteg into a house.
The Castle Inn, located on Wrexham Road in Brynteg was purchased by a new owner in 2011, who converted half of the former pub into a kebab takeaway.
However in an application submitted to Wrexham Council it has been proposed that the remaining half of the building is converted into a house.
Details provided within the application’s design and access statement explains that “since its last use as a pub, the other of it has remained vacant, including the former residential living accommodation on the first floor.”
The document continues onto say: “There are no extensions planned and the only exterior alternations are minor alterations to the doors / windows on the rear elevation and the removal of the existing fire escape stairway.
“The property is situated in a predominantly residential area with a few village shops within walking distance and there is a frequent bus service into Wrexham.
“The proposed change of use will provide a sustainable use for the property for many years to come.”
The application will be considered for approval at a later date.
