The Gredington Arms on Holt Road, next to the new industrial estate link road, is likely to have four houses built on its carpark.

The planning application submitted to Wrexham Council splits the existing site in two, with the eastern side being dedicated to the new development of four houses. The western side will remain as the former pub buildings – as illustrated above.

The pub buildings themselves will become three dwellings in a future planning application.

Currently the site has 20 spaces attached to the pub, which will be reduced down to 12. However 16 new cycle spaces will be created, as the application makes much of the site’s accessible situation due to close bus and cycle routes.

The building and site has recently been on the market for £375,000. The former brewery, Hydes of Manchester, blamed the new link road to the closure of the pub due to lack of custom.
