A minor power blip this afternoon has had wider ramifications at the Maelor Hospital where all servers are ‘down’, affecting IT provision on the site.

The power was off for around 5 seconds around Wrexham.com’s offices off Regent Street, with others reporting a similar power blip at the same time.

Several people got in touch to say alarms were sounding after the power outage, and that as far out as Wrexham Industrial Estate was also affected.

Some mentioned that Wrexham Hospital had also been affected.

A representative from Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board told us as of 2:40pm: “All servers at Wrexham Maelor Hospital are currently down due to a power cut.

“Services affected include all PCs and ancillaries, phone and most IT services on the site.”

“All the IT teams are aware of and are currently working to resolve the issues.”
