One of the town centre branches of Santander is set to close next week.

Users of Santander may have had a letter this week informing them that the Hope Street Santander branch will close at 4pm on Thursday 17th July.

Currently there are two Santander branches in the town centre, one on Regent Street and a second on Hope Street.

This is the second Wrexham branch this year that has faced closure, with the Gresford branch announced as one of five that could be closed as part of ‘strategic review of Santander’s retail network’.

The letter states: “By bringing together Abbey, Alliance & Leicester and Bradford & Bingley, we now have several Santander branches in the same area. We’ve reviewed how these branches are used and after careful consideratiopn have taken the decision to merge the branch at 11 Hope Street with the other branch in Wrexham.

“From 4pm July 17th 2014 the existing team at 11 Hope Street will be moving to the other branch in Wrexham.”
