A number of homes and businesses in the Gwersyllt area have been hit by a power cut this afternoon.

Issues around the Dodd’s Lane, Old Mold Road and Maes Y Coed parts of Gwersyllt were reported shortly after 4:30pm this afternoon.

Emma told us that there was ‘no power in Gwersyllt.. Iceland, home bargains, chippy, houses all lost power and traffic lights by Lidl all off’.

Laura also told us: “Power cut in every single shop in Gwersyllt retail park, had to leave all shopping there.”

SP Energy Networks have confirmed they are aware of a fault and their engineers are working to restore supplies.

A statement posted on the SP Energy Networks website, reads: “We are currently experiencing problems with the electricity supply in your area.

“We are arranging to have engineers investigate the fault, and we hope to have your electricity restored by 24-MAR-2017 18:40.

“Please accept our sincere apologies for the inconvenience this is causing.”
