Ho ho ho! Wrexham to host its first ever Christmas Village this week!

A new addition to Wrexham’s festive calendar will take place in town this week – with a three day Christmas Village set to attract huge crowds.

The event, a first for the town centre, will see Llwyn Isaf / the library field become home to a festive mix of chalets and a ‘magical teepee’ between Friday 14th and Sunday 16th December.

Around 40 stalls have been confirmed for the three days, including a festive mix of chalets offering authentic and mouth watering cuisine, a mix of hand crafted goods and bespoke artisan produce.

The event comes off the back of another successful turnout and response for the Victorian Christmas Market, which last Thursday attracted thousands of people to the town centre.

The free to enter event will also feature live entertainment from Rhythm Train, Luke Gallagher, Amy Grace and Pantomime Dames and Clockwork Ballerina; along with the chance to soak up the atmosphere with a warming mulled wine in the Christmas teepee.

Santa’s reindeers will also be at the Christmas Village across the three days. However to make sure they’re not too tired for Christmas Eve they’ll only at the event for four hours each day.

Friday 14th December: 4pm – 8pm
Saturday 15th December: 12noon – 4pm
Sunday 16th December: 12 noon – 4pm

Cllr Mark Pritchard, Leader of Wrexham Council, said: “We’ve had a brilliant line up of activities for this Christmas and the Christmas Village, whilst a new venture for us, promises to be as successful as the Victorian Christmas Market, Santa’s Grotto, The Christmas Lights Switch On and all the other events that have kept us busy for the past few weeks.

“I know lots of people are already looking forward to this final festive treat and we look forward to welcoming many new faces over the coming days.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank the town centre events team for all their hard work during the past few months who have done a fantastic job in making sure everyone has had a Christmas to remember in Wrexham.”

The Christmas Village opening times are:

Friday 14th December: 12noon 8pm

Saturday 15th December: 10am – 8pm

Sunday 16th December: 10am – 4pm

You can also park for free from 10am in all council owned town centre car parks across the three days!
