HMO plans for mid-terraced property in Rhosddu
A residential property in Rhosddu could soon be converted into a House Multiple Occupancy (HMO) for eight occupants.
The plans have put forward in relation to 33 Park Street, which is described as being a two-storey, four bedroomed mid-terraced house built at the end of the nineteenth century.
However under in an application submitted to Wrexham Council it has been proposed the property is converted into a five bedroom HMO which would house eight occupants at any one time – with three of the bedrooms used by couples.
A design and access statement submitted alongside the application, explains that it is intended that the HMO will provide provision for residents “choosing to live in shared accommodation for which there is significant demand and limited availability”.
If approved the HMO would be based over two floors, with one bedroom, kitchen, lounge, shower room and separate toilet facilities on the ground floor.
A further four bedrooms would be located on the next floor.
The design and access statement adds: “The house is situated within easy walking distance of the university, hospital and central bus station from which buses run to industrial estates around Wrexham.
“Each of the five bedrooms will be equipped to a high standard and will contain a desk, chair, wardrobe, chest of drawers and bedside table.
“The house will have wi-fi internet access throughout provided by the landlords. The house will have a fully equipped kitchen and laundry facilities.
“There is also a private rear yard, which will be equipped with sufficient clothes drying facilities, secure bicycle storage and rubbish and recycling facilities.”
The application will be considered for approval at a later date.
