Heavy rain causes flash flooding across Wrexham
Heavy rain this afternoon has caused flash flooding across parts of Wrexham.
Rain, rain and more rain has been the general theme in the area throughout today.
Earlier forecasts had Wrexham down to dodge the main downpours that have hit parts of the UK however after constant rain this morning there was an extra heavy period of rain this afternoon.
As result of the heavy downpours at around 4pm, there is flooding / standing water in some of the usual spots around Wrexham – particularly around Smithy Lane and Chester Road as shown in the image above from local Borras Cllr Debbie Wallice.
Thankfully the rain appears to have passed through without any incidents being reported, and the forecast into the weekend is dry ahead of a mini heatwave next week!
