Cyclists and walkers in Wrexham are being urged to have their say on ways to improve routes in the area.

A council consultation on active travel routes – those used for walking and cycling – has been launched across Wrexham county borough. The consultation lets Wrexham people have their say on how walking and cycling routes can be improved.

Wrexham MP Ian Lucas is urging all of those who have walk and cycle in the area to have their say by taking part in the consultation.

He said: “During the summer I met with Chris Matheson MP, council officers from Wrexham and Chester and constituents to discuss improving the quality and safety of cycling routes in and around both Wrexham and Chester. This consultation was mentioned during that meeting and I think it’s important that people let the council know their thoughts.

“I’ve also recently cycled round Wrexham with some local cycle users to see the challenges we have in the area. There are issues with some of our cycling infrastructure and I would like to see it improved – so I will certainly be taking part in the consultation.”

The consultation runs until December 11 and can be found here.
