There’s exciting news for Harry Potter fans with one of the film’s biggest stars set to visit Wrexham next month.

Rupert Grint, who played the character of Ron Weasley during the seven films, is the latest big name to be announced for Wales Comic Con.

Taking place at the Wrexham Glyndwr University campus on the 27th and 28th of April, this year’s event looks set to the biggest so far.

Rupert Grint joins a series of well known names who have already been confirmed – including Doctor Who star Billie Piper, Kiefer Sutherland from 24, Andrew Scott from Sherlock, Jackass star Bam Margera, Russell Tovey from Being Human and One Tree Hill’s Chad Michael Murray.

Wales Comic held its first event in the sports hall at the university way back in 2008 and over the past decade has become the largest event in the town.

Each year thousands of fans from across the world visit Wrexham from the bi-annual event – with hotels and accomodation around the town and further afield being booked up months in advance.

As with previous years there will also be the change to take part in Q&A sessions over the weekend with some of the guests, have autographs and purchase some unique and awesome merchandise from independent traders.

Want to find out more about tickets and how you can get involved on the weekend? Simply visit the Wales Comic Con website and follow their social media feeds on @walescomiccon and Facebook to keep up to date with more announcements!
