999 calls in parts of Wrexham suffered a ‘loss of service’ today due to a hardware failure with the BT service.

The failure is affecting around 5,000 people in Wrexham and 2,000 lines in Caergwrle.

The police are advising that people use mobile phones if they need to make an emergency call.

As of 3:30pm the Caergwrle issue had been fixed and the other problems are being worked on.

Update 5:30pm – Police reporting all problems are now fixed!
