Mad Hatter’s Tea Party for Comic Relief

Come and join the team at Wrexham Library for a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party to raise money for Comic Relief. The tea party will feature a themed story time with local actors at 4pm for the youngsters; not to forget plenty of tea, coffee and lots of cakes for sale too.  The event is suitable for all ages, so pop along and have an afternoon of fun while raising money for a great cause.

St. Christopher’s charity band night

St. Christopher’s School will be holding a charity band night at Llay Miners Welfare. What is sure to be a great night of live music, the evening has something to suit everyone’s taste; with bands Weaver, Blues Missiles, John LLoyd and Eezee Street all playing. National Orchestra of Wales

Come and experience a Saturday night with a difference with Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony. With its iconic opening and overwhelming power next to Sibelius’s powerful evocation of Finnish myths, the powerful enigmatic Clarinet Concerto by Nielsen, played by Robert Plane, Principal Clarinet of BBC National Orchestra of Wales.

A Night with ‘The Big Beat’ in Aid of Hope House Children’s Hospice

One of the most exciting and polished function bands in the UK, The Big Beat will be playing a mixture Motown, Soul & Blues and Pop. This energetic five-piece outfit has already wowed audiences across the world with their eclectic mix of rock, soul, pop and blues; featured on top television and radio programmes and worked with the likes of James Corden, Diana Vickers, The Kooks, and The Fratellis. They have recently performed live at major sporting events at such venues as Wembley Stadium, Old Trafford, The Millennium Stadium, Elland Road, The Trafford Centre and many more. Food available. Indoor / Outdoor Car Boot Sale

Do you have things stuck in cupboards/lofts that you never use? Or do you adore a bargain? Fed up of winter weather stopping your car booting? Hate stupid dark mornings? Multi-Skills Dragon Sport

A new way of teaching children the skills for a life in sport is set to give Welsh youngsters the same sporting start as in countries like Australia and New Zealand Dragon Multi-Skills and Sport will focus on embedding basic skills – such as agility, balance and co-ordination – that give the essential building blocks, before moving on to playing a specific sport. This is event is suitable for 6-11 years

Friends of Wrexham Museum Lecture

A fascinating talk by Robert Williams about the Battle for Equality and the history of the labour movement in Britain. Admission is free but non members are asked to consider a donation of £3 to the Friends of Wrexham Museum; a registered charity aimed at assisting with the preservation and presentation of all aspects of the history and culture of Wrexham County Borough. A 45 minute work out for all abilities in a new, fun filled exercise.

Blood Donation Session

Giving blood can dramatically improve or save the lives of those in need of blood transfusions, in fact a single donation can be broken into three component parts (red cells, plasma and platelets) which means that one donation can potentially save or improve the lives of up to three people. Anyone aged between 17 – 65, weighing more than 50 kg (7 stone 12lbs) and in general good health could potentially start saving lives by becoming a blood donor. There is no upper age limit for donors who have donated in the last two years.

Chapel & Tavern

This will be a unique opportunity to experience the relationship between the music of chapel and tavern, each in its own place. It is one concert, but in 2 venues! A fresh look at what can be seen as ‘different musical worlds’, with a concert with The Carnival Band with Vivien Ellis, ‘Chapel & Tavern’. The evening will begin at Wrexham Methodist Church for a first half that may well feature hymns as you’ve never heard them before (unless you’re already a Carnival Band fan, of course) At half-time, band and audience will make the 5 minute walk to Saith Seren on Chester Road where the concert will continue after the interval with the Carnival Band’s characteristic musical mayhem. The event is suitable for 18+. Advanced booking is required.
